11th Hour work to mobilise sports, maritime and coastal communities with an innovative approach to inspire solutions for the ocean. Since 2010, 11th Hour Racing has been promoting collaborative, systemic change through three primary areas of engagement: sponsorships, grantees and ambassadors.

Our Task

11th Hour Racing tasked us with improving the impact of their communications via social media and Google Ads. 

We has to achieve three things: 

  1. Create campaigns that delivered more people to in-person events around the world
  2. Improve engagement with the organisations website to increase impact
  3. Engage more users on social media to encourage adoption of regional initiatives

 

Across all the above objectives we needed to leverage a set annual budget over 12 months to deliver an uplift of at least 150% YOY in engagement with the brand and expand the regularly engaging audience size.

By achieving this, we knew that other objectives the organisation had around attendance, engagement and initiative adoption would be achieved.

"As a business started on the South Coast of Britain in an area where sea and nature preservation is front of mind working with the 11th Hour Racing organisation was a dream come true. For me personally, and the team, we want our agency to impact things that improve the planet. We got to increase the awareness of amazing iniatives in Europe, South America, Africa and North America. Our remit was increasing impact, driving attendance to in person events where the organisation could increase impact and make change, and inform about the challenges facing our waters globally via comms. This was a nuanced project that required knowledge of global societal and policital advertising law and the team absolutely smashed it. We delivered a big uplift in engagement for the organisation and we are all very proud that our efforts helps 11th Hour make change in the world for all of us to benefit.

Our Solution

We approached this project from three angles: 

  1. Audience research to establish a core set of 11x profiles that would help the organisation place content in front of audiences with advertising across Google and Social Media Advertising with impact
  2. Design and deliver advertising campaigns to support regional events and drive attendance, as well as drive initiative adoption regionally
  3. Optimise content and messaging for the brand to be used on digital platforms within societal and environmental policy regulations globally as to not allow it to be blocked from viewing through censorship on varying platforms

 

Through all this over 12 months, we delivered a lot of impact for the brand, resulting in a large jump in audience size.
