Sustainability Policy

1. Our Commitment

At Teylu and Partners, sustainability is not a marketing exercise. It is a fundamental principle that shapes how we operate, the partnerships we form, and the decisions we make every day. As a remote first marketing agency, we recognise our responsibility to minimise environmental impact whilst delivering exceptional results for our clients.

This policy outlines the practical steps we take to reduce our carbon footprint and contribute to a more sustainable future. We believe that commercial success and environmental responsibility are not mutually exclusive. They are complementary.

2. Technology and Equipment

Refurbished Technology First

We purchase all company equipment from certified refurbishers. This approach directly reduces electronic waste, one of the fastest growing waste streams globally, whilst extending the useful life of existing technology. Every laptop, monitor, and device in our organisation has been given a second life.

Our refurbishment partners meet rigorous quality standards, ensuring our team has access to high performance equipment that supports excellent work. This policy applies to all technology purchases across the organisation, without exception.

3. Business Travel

Air Travel Minimisation

We actively minimise air travel across all business activities. Our default position is that domestic travel within the UK should be conducted by rail, with air travel only considered when no viable alternative exists. For international travel, we assess each journey on its necessity and explore virtual alternatives wherever possible.

Rail First Approach

Rail travel is our preferred mode of transport for client meetings, team gatherings, and business events across the UK. This approach significantly reduces our carbon emissions per journey compared to domestic flights or individual car journeys.

Company Pool Vehicle

When road transport is necessary, our team has access to a company pool car: a used hybrid vehicle selected for its exceptional fuel efficiency. By purchasing a secondhand vehicle, we avoided the carbon cost of new vehicle manufacturing whilst gaining the environmental benefits of hybrid technology. This vehicle is shared across the organisation to maximise utilisation and minimise the number of cars required.

4. Our Workspaces

Sustainable Buildings

All Teylu office locations across the United Kingdom are situated in sustainable buildings that generate their power entirely from renewable energy sources. When selecting workspace, whether for permanent offices or flexible desking facilities, renewable energy provision is an absolute requirement.

This commitment ensures that the electricity powering our operations does not contribute to fossil fuel consumption or associated carbon emissions.

5. Supply Chain and Partnerships

Values Aligned Partnerships

We actively seek out software providers, service partners, and suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability. When evaluating new tools or partnerships, environmental credentials form part of our assessment criteria alongside functionality, cost, and service quality.

This approach extends across our technology stack, professional services relationships, and operational suppliers. We recognise that our environmental impact extends beyond our direct operations into our supply chain, and we take this responsibility seriously.

Where multiple providers offer comparable services, we favour those demonstrating measurable sustainability commitments, whether through carbon neutral hosting, renewable energy usage, or certified environmental management systems.

6. Continuous Improvement

Sustainability is not a destination but an ongoing journey. We regularly review our environmental impact and seek opportunities to improve. This policy will be updated as we identify new ways to reduce our footprint and as sustainable alternatives become available.

We welcome feedback from our team, clients, and partners on how we can further strengthen our sustainability commitments.
